How to overcome stress and conquer your day? How to achieve a work-life balance when there’s always something to do and so little time? Always in a rush? The simple answer yet difficult to practice words goes to de-stressing and taking time to slow down.
De-stressing is a great way to heal and refresh your mind from all the mental clutters. Even the simple way of cleaning and arranging your stuff will make a great impact for you to think clearly and work productively.
Here are 5 de-stressing ideas for busy entrepreneurs that you can start today:
Pause for a moment and just breath. Evaluate yourself and how you are feeling. No matter how busy you may be just stop everything you are doing and give yourself time to breathe. I know how hard it is to stop when your mind is very active. Go for a short walk and get some fresh air.
Seek the silence for a while and take some time to fill your heart with gratitude. When you’re feeling you’re about to explode from the stress whether from work or family matters, take some time to slow down and retreat to a quiet place. Condition your mind to think positively despite the situations and dust yourself off all the negative thoughts.
Don’t waste your time on things that you can’t control. How would you feel when you wake up late in the morning and missed out on some of your important schedules? That will surely ruin your day first thing in the morning. But hey, calm down it’s not the end of everything for you, sure you messed up a little (we all do sometimes) but you can still do better things than crying over the spilled milk. Move on and focus on the things you can control instead.
Kill multitasking and do one thing at a time. Are you feeling more efficient when you are multitasking? Do you perform at your best and get things done effectively? Being a multitasker will make it hard for you to focus on just one thing at a time (and I’m also guilty on this). Though you can get more things done you probably worn out yourself and performed less effectively.
Disconnect for a while. I hate to break it to you but this is quite challenging for a generation who can’t live without social media and put down gadgets. Yet, challenge yourself to set a time daily or once a week. For example, make the first half of Saturdays your scheduled time to unplug from technologies.
So, are you ready to de-stress now? Here are some mindfulness tools to help you relax and regain your positive energy.
Headspace is one of the most popular mindfulness and meditation tools. It offers guided exercises and meditations on a free trial. You can opt to sign up for their paid subscription to access more meditation exercises designed for anxiety and depression management.
This tool provides relaxing sounds and stories to help relieve your stress and anxiety. It offers guided meditations on building self-esteem and calming anxiety. Just like Headspace, in order to have full access to their program, you need to sign up for the paid subscription.
Stop Breathe and Think
This is one of my favorite mindfulness tools. When you open the app it will ask how you are feeling and give you time to check in with yourself. Your response will determine the appropriate mindfulness session you can take. I also love it’s 15 minute Yoga for stress to move your body and quiet your mind.
The name speaks for itself, Breathe2Relax is a stress management tool to help you manage anxiety and de-stress with breathing exercises. Breathe2Relax helps manage stress with diaphragmatic breathing techniques.
Colorfy is a coloring therapy for adults. This app offers a creative and fun way to clear your mind from all mental clutters, wind down and of course color all you want with their paid plan. Colorfy also offers a free trial.
Practicing mindfulness is a great way to regain your focus and de-clutter your mind. In order to enjoy a healthier and happier life, live intentionally, free yourself from worries and seize EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
