It’s one thing to lift other people up, but it’s another thing to encourage yourself when no one is around to do it for you.

“When no one is there to say things like

“you can do it”

“you worked really hard”

“it’s okay to cry”

How do you encourage yourself?

Most often than not people (including me) take on the ‘victim mentality’. You sit around feeling sorry for yourself. Well, of course, it’s okay not to be okay. What’s not good is staying on that same mindset for too long. We need to move on!

“There’s no use in crying over spilled milk. You have a lot of time, you can fill up the glass again slowly. So, don’t cry too much. Don’t beat yourself up for too long. But never forget what happened.”

I don’t know about you but that lines resonate with me these past few days.

You might be hurting right now but remember God trusts you with the pain. That pain is developing something in you that can only be developed during tough times.

DON’T. WASTE. YOUR. PAIN.

Are you going through a painful time?

Difficulties are part of life, we only need to have the right perspective.

When it’s painful, don’t get discouraged, stay in faith!

I strongly believe that we all have something to give. We may not have material things to offer but we have this unique God-given gift that we can share with anyone–You can encourage people who are going through what you have been through.

When you’ve been through something, you have been given a gift you are uniquely qualified to help others struggling in the same situation- Joel Osteen

Encourage Yourself in the Lord

There’s a purpose for the uncomfortable situation you are going through right now. There’s a purpose for that pain.

For the past few days, I have been struggling with a high level of stress and anxiety. I got sick and I lost my appetite to eat. My mental health is low. I don’t have the strength physically, mentally and spiritually to do anything.

That’s when I encouraged myself in the Lord.

You may be feeling uncomfortable, hurt, sick or depressed right now but I want to tell you this DON’T. WASTE. YOUR. PAIN. God is in control, never give up!

I know how hard it is to keep fighting when you don’t feel like it or when you are down. So here are some encouraging words to equip and strengthen you to stay in faith during those times.

8 Bible Verses for Comfort When You Are Hurting

John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

Psalm 30:5 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Matthew 5:4 God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Psalm 62:1-2 I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but we are not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 1:4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
